BAXTER COLLECTION: HIMANI CARPETS

COLLECTION: HIMANI RUGS

Himani is a collection of 6 iconic rugs produced in limited series. A combination of irregular shapes. Each rug is characterized by a series of contrasts: texture, three-dimensional elements, uneven surfaces with smooth ones, they are all characterized by a series of organic lines that give a touch of contemporary. Shiny and matte effects, given by the contrast of vegetable silk and wool, react in a different way to the light; thanks to light, the refinement of color combinations can be subtly perceived in each area of the rugs; the different heights of the fleece („shaggy“ intentionally and carefully hand-finished by skilled craftsmen) are complemented by more refined parts and complete each rug, adding a touch of elegance.
The Himani collection, made in Nepal, is knotted and hand-stitched by hand, with a mixture of yarns: Ngari twisted wool, Himalayan wool, linen, Indian sari silk, viscose. The rug has been developed in 4 fleece heights, cut by hand and finished by hand.

Care of Himani rugs

For routine care of the rugs, we recommend vacuuming them to remove dust and other residues. Some fibers may come loose from the rug in the initial phase. This is absolutely normal. The wool and/or silk rugs always have some excess fibers that will gradually disappear with normal use. To maintain even exposure to light and trampling, we recommend turning the rug regularly. We also recommend removing stains immediately. Be careful not to damage the fibers. To remove stains, first vacuum with blotting paper. Then dip a cloth or sponge in lukewarm water. Dampen the stain without rubbing and soak it up. Repeat these steps until you have completely removed the stain. For stubborn stains, we recommend contacting a specialist cleaning company immediately.

COLOR PALETTE:

In addition to the development of new products, there is also the famous color research. This year there are basically three color families and all of them go from using classic shades like brown, blue and grey, to unusual color combinations that transform the entire palette unexpectedly.

The first palette is declined in different shades of green; starting from military green combined with a very bright lime green in combination with shades of gray. As matching materials we find alpacca, a cold gray, as if it were a kind of silver, and forged concrete, the material used for the new coffee tables. It is an ordinary cement on whose surface an acid treatment creates a particular pattern.

The second palette features classic colors, which are then combined with elements of great contrast. It starts with shades of brown, then all the warm tones of chocolate, combined with a blueberry blue and a camel color. The accompanying materials are brass and white marbles like Bianco Gioia.

The last palette is decidedly surprising, in the sense that a very bright turquoise has been combined with a „nude“ color.

This year there are 13 new leather colors in the collection and the new leather category VERANDA with 4 different colors. It is the new leather designed for the open air, but due to its color, touch and appearance, it can also be used indoors. This leather has good natural water repellency and excellent resistance to wet/moisture and drying.

Projects:

In terms of projects, there are 5 different rooms where you can see all the new products and the mix of new leathers and materials: 3 living rooms, 1 bedroom and 1 dining area.

The first living room presents the MILANO sofa designed by Paola Navone and it is the centerpiece of this room. The starting point of its creation was the research of extreme comfort and at the same time the will to create a „neutral“ element that could be combined with other Baxter products. The results are sofas and armchairs with soft and cozy shapes. Next to this new sofa you will find the PIOMBINO coffee tables in forged concrete, always designed by Paola Navone. The chosen palette is that of „military and lime green“.

The next living room stages the evolution of the modular PIAF sofa, with a series of modules of large dimensions to create much more linear compositions, less constrained by curves. The other novelties in the room are the LAZYBONES LOUNGE armchairs designed by Studiopepe and the CALIX small tables with rounded and organic wooden shapes. Finally, NANDA appliqué made of artistic glass and neon, designed by Studiopepe.

The third living area presents the BRIGITTE sofa by Draga & Aurel. If you look at the cushions, you can see that the starting point is the Bardot sofa, but the line is more modern and the comfort is maximum; the large seat cushions are supported by two armrests that make it almost an iconic piece from the 70s. In addition, the Leon family grows with the development of a comfortable swivel armchair. In the background, the GOOGIE methacrylate lamp designed by Draga & Aurel take us back to the light forms of the 70s.

As for the dining area, here we meet the new RONCHAMP table, designed by Baxter Style Office and inspired by the Ronchamp Chapel by Le Corbusier. The curves of the building become the starting point to draw the shape of the table, while the legs are made of leather and the top is a single block of Bianco Carrara marble, excavated and refined with a liquid material such as resin. The hanging lamp above the table is part of the TUNNEL collection by Federico Peri. The curves and light sources radiate colored rays of light on the walls as a kaleidoscope.

The last set is dedicated to the STONE bed designed by Federico Peri, with a headboard whose shape is reminiscent of a row of stones placed side by side. The headboard consists of two central modules and two options for the sides: one with a bedside table with integrated light and the other with a free-standing bedside table. In the foreground you can see the Parsec console and Peris mirror, both designed by Pietro Russo.

All projects aim to lead to recognition, as at a certain point the objects must speak independently of the logo itself and this also applies to the new „Baxter Worldwide 2020“ collection
