Architecture, nature and light in harmony: BALTENSWEILER in the Hotel Hergiswald

Reference project: Hotel / Catering – Hotel Hergiswald – Architecture: Gion A. Caminada – Client: Albert Köchlin Foundation – Year: 2019
Living with feeling – in the heart of the Central Swiss countryside
The Hotel Hergiswald is a place that redefines time and tranquillity. Built on historic foundations, the four-storey timber construction combines traditional building culture with a modern, restrained design language. The façade made of local Douglas fir and the generous window areas merge the interior and exterior spaces into a harmonious whole.
The interior design favours natural materials, clear lines and plenty of light – a concept that creates atmospheric warmth and deliberately opens up the view to the outside. Light plays a key role in this quiet clarity: the FEZ free-standing luminaire and the TOPOLED wall luminaires from BALTENSWEILER complement the architectural concept with calm, precise lighting.
It is precisely this combination of space, material and light that we value at Bruno Wickart – spaces that are not only designed, but experienced.
Our consulting philosophy: light that creates atmosphere
Good architecture thrives on details – and light is one of the most important. In our consultation, we combine aesthetic sensitivity with functional planning to create spaces that touch people and are practical to use at the same time.
- Tailor-made: Every hotel tells its own story. We develop lighting and furnishing concepts that strengthen this identity.
- Personal: We work in close dialogue with the architecture, client and planning teams.
- Functional: Light must provide orientation, create moods and be intuitive to use.
- Stylish: Brands such as BALTENSWEILER stand for clear purism, timelessness and precision craftsmanship.
This creates rooms that guests not only use, but also feel.
