World-famous furniture design classics that became film heroes
Many of our iconic Bruno Wickart design classics are not only part of stylish interiors, but have themselves become stars of the film and television industry. Pedestal 1 – Timeless world star in the furniture design sky
The iconic Eero Saarinen Tulip Chair by Knoll International, designed in 1957, is the result of the Finnish architect’s confrontation with a world he perceived as “ugly, restless and confusing”. Inspired by the delicate blossom of a slender tulip, the famous chair was created from Rilsan-coated cast aluminium and glass fibre-reinforced plastic – with the visionary idea of production from a single mould.
Its timeless, futuristic design has made the Tulip Chair the celebrated star of numerous films and series, including Barbie, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, James Bond – Casino Royale and The Fabelmans.

Pedestal 2 – Already played major roles in film & television
The world-famous Fritz Hansen Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen is one of the icons of international furniture design. Developed in 1958 for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, it is regarded as a masterpiece of Danish craftsmanship and timeless furniture design.
Jacobsen experimented with wires and plaster in his garage to develop the organic shape. The result: an armchair that conveys security, elegance and avant-garde presence at the same time – and became a star of the film world, including in Men in Black, Interstellar, Help! and The Bridge.
More than 50 years after its creation, the Egg Chair is in demand and celebrated worldwide – and can also be experienced at Bruno Wickart.
Pedestal 3 – Sculptural and ready for film
The iconic de Sede DS-1025 Terrazza sofa by Ubald Klug, designed in 1974, is a superstar of Swiss furniture design. Handcrafted from the finest leather, it is characterised by its terraced shape, inspired by topographical maps.
With its sculptural appearance, it has played leading roles in international films such as Logan’s Run, Oasis – Morning Glory, Atomic Blonde and Glass Onion. Stars such as Mick Jagger, Charlize Theron and Daniel Craig have also been staged on this sofa.
A masterpiece that combines comfort, art and film history.
Pedestal 4 – A design piece with heart
The Heart Cone Chair by Verner Panton, produced by Vitra, combines avant-garde design and playful symbolism. Its iconic heart shape adds a charming dynamic to any room and makes it an unmistakable eye-catcher.
As a statement piece predestined for films, studios and creative sets, it could become the “newcomer star” of the film world. The Heart Cone Chair embodies bold, modern design and, like the Eames Lounge Chair or the Barcelona Chair, has the potential to become an icon on the silver screen.
Pedestal 5 – An interior design icon of internationally successful films
The Vitra Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman, designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1956, is one of the world’s most famous design classics. Inspired by English club armchairs, it combines fine woods, the finest leather and ergonomic comfort.
For decades, it has characterised film scenes in classics such as Interstellar, Iron Man, Casino Royale, House of Gucci, Frasier, Gossip Girl and Mad Men. Stars such as Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Natalie Portman have already posed on it.
As a permanent exhibition in the MoMA and a globally coveted classic, the Eames Lounge Chair is a symbol of noblesse and cultivated lifestyle – and can be experienced at Bruno Wickart.
