✨ Welcome to the Design Squad

We are Mia, Lisa and Lena – three friends who have combined their favourite nerd topics: Colour, Space & Light. Each of us has celebrated our own specialism for years – and at some point realised that the best things happen when we combine everything and pass it on.

Why we do this

  • Because home is a feeling. You can’t increase square metres, but you can increase the feeling of well-being.

  • Because good tips don’t need foreign words. We prefer to talk in latte macchiato palettes and Netflix lighting scenes rather than RAL numbers or lux formulas.

  • Because joy is contagious. When our friend Bruna is beaming because her mini room is suddenly breathing, all three of us glow like new light bulbs.

What connects us

Mia 🎨 Lisa 🛋️ Lena 💡
Mixes off-whites until small rooms look big. Arranges furniture so that every centimetre has a job. Conjures up five moods from one LED strip.
Team credo of the Design Squad group: “Colour, surface, floodlight – when we pitch together, every room becomes a favourite stage.”

✨ Design Squad – Our little (room) revolution in pastel & prototype ✨

You know that feeling when you’re sitting on the couch with your favourite girls and suddenly the ideas start flowing as if you had champagne on the brain? That’s exactly how the Design Squad principle works. We believe that really good design is not a solo gig, but a joyful interplay of talents, perspectives and soft skills.

A squad is more than a classic “design team ” – it’s a mini-movement:

  • Interdisciplinary: colour meets floor plan meets light (and sometimes code or ceramics).

  • Empathetic: We listen first before wielding brushes or sketchpads.

  • Playful: ideas are tried out, discarded, celebrated – as in mood board ping pong.

The result is not just a pretty end product, but a process that is fun, encouraging and fills spaces (physical or digital) with a real sense of well-being. Are you curious? Then sit back – our Design Squad will take you into a world of latte macchiato pallets, clever lighting scenes and Tetris-esque furniture layouts. 🚀💕

What we mean by “Design Squad” – in three little declarations of love 💌

1 | The crew instead of the lone fighter

Imagine three good friends – each shines in her own field, but magic only happens when they work together. That’s exactly what a design squad is: a deliberately colourful team (colour + space + light) that solves problems like a joint dance. Not an ego show, but “I complement you, you inspire me”.

2 | Design Thinking DNA

In workshops, we work like typical design thinkers: first understanding the heartbeat (empathy!), then playfully building, testing, discarding and celebrating ideas. Being interdisciplinary is a must – soft skills such as listening and humour are optional. This is how a tricky mini-apartment becomes a feel-good prototype that you can live with immediately.

3 | Movement instead of buzzwords

“Squad” sounds like sneakers, team high-fives and a dash of girl power – that’s exactly what good design should feel like: approachable, light, a little glitzy. Whether it’s a website layout, app flow or couch corner: we don’t sit alone at the computer, we tinker together. This brings quicker “aha” moments and is more fun – for us and for you.

In short: a design squad provides solutions with team spirit & female power – relaxed, empathetic, effective.

Favourite sentence “If you understand the material, it will tell you what it wants to be.”

Noah 🏗️ – “Architecture buddy for the feasible”

Experience furnishing tips and design live at www.bruno-wickart.ch.
Noah – down-to-earth archi all-rounder
What he loves Finding old floor plans, cleverly remodelling and preserving the character. Sunday breakfast on the building site – croissant in one hand, folding rule in the other.
Superpower Finds a load-bearing wall in any old building, no matter how tricky, that can still be taken out – and explains to you in an understandable way why it works according to structural engineering standards.
Backstory in 3 lines 29 years old, Bachelor of Architecture (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts), five years in a small office for renovating old buildings. Specialises in “budget smart makeovers”: little demolition, lots of impact. Favourite place to draw is in a café with a pencil and a latte.
Why it fits perfectly Closes the gap between Lisa’s room concepts and Alex’s material ideas. Provides realistic construction plans, knows the craftsmen by their first names and negotiates discounts so that Mia’s colours & Lena’s light also end up in real walls.
Fun fact Keeps a dropbox full of “staircase selfies” – every project gets a start and end photo with his grin in front of it.
Favourite sentence “Architecture has to feel like the best jeans: fits, holds, looks good – without pinching.”

Experience furnishing tips and design live at www.bruno-wickart.ch.

Age: 31 |Place of residence: Zurich district 4
Job title: Marketing manager in a tech startup forge

Why she calls us Style Compass Fun facts
40 m² old building with high ceilings, but tiny bedroom (9 m²). She feels there’s more to it, but doesn’t know which colour & lighting mood will bring out the best. – Vintage dresses in peach tones – Mix of flea market finds & clean Scandi – Plant lover (monstera mum) – Secretly draws floor plans in her notebook during meetings. – Her cat “Pixel” prefers to sleep in cardboard boxes – Bruna hopes that the cardboard will eventually look like design.

Mini CV:

  • Bachelor “Communication & Media” (University of Bern)

  • 3 years at an agency, now marketing lead at a SaaS start-up – loves storytelling and launch events.

  • Creative in mind, but zero patience for hammer drills and paint rollers.

Living goals:

  1. Dusty-peach comfort zone without clinical white.

  2. Storage space that doesn’t look like storage space.

  3. Dimmable light scenes “Morning Latte”, “Zoom Call” and “Netflix & Nachos”.

Quote from Bruna:
“I want to come in in the morning and think ‘yes, this is the place for me’ without being reminded of my square metre struggle every time.”

So Bruna’s mini flat becomes a maxi feel-good case – and we can show live how colour, space and floodlighting work together. Experience furnishing tips and design live at www.bruno-wickart.ch. Noah: – likeable, down-to-earth, in the middle of the building site
