How do I divide up an open-plan space without building walls?

Lisa 🛋️: “Use carpets or sideboards as room dividers – that way, there’s still visibility, but the zones are clear.”

Noah 🏗️: “Instead of walls, use ceiling tracks for light. Cones of light define areas very subtly.”
How do I position the sofa so that it doesn’t block the flow?

Lisa 🛋️: “Back the sofa away from the main flow line. Ideally parallel to the longest section of the room so that you can walk past it.”
I’m afraid of reverberation – does furnishing really help?

Alex 🌿: “Yes! Deep fabric sofas, carpets and open shelves with books absorb sound better than absorber panels.”
How do I keep the dining area flexible for guests?

Mia 🎨: “Folding or extendable tables. And chairs that are stackable or lightweight so you can move them around quickly.”
Does each zone need its own light?

Lena 💡: “Absolutely! Basic light for everything, warm pendants above the table, soft reading light by the sofa. Each area has its own ambience.”
