Solid wood furniture explained clearly – your questions, our answers
Furniture is considered solid if the majority of it is made of real, continuous wood – not plywood or laminated board.
It is durable, stable, environmentally friendly and ensures a pleasant indoor climate as it can regulate humidity.
Oak, beech, walnut and pine are popular – depending on the desired hardness, look and colour.
It is usually oiled or waxed, less often varnished – this protects and emphasises the natural grain.
We use certified wood from sustainable forestry – with the FSC or PEFC seal.
Yes, as it is low in harmful substances and treated with natural oils – ideal for a healthy home.
With a slightly damp cloth – if necessary with a special wood cleaner. No microfibre cloths or harsh cleaning agents!
Oiled furniture benefits from regular care with wood oil or wax. This keeps the surface beautiful and protected.
Too much water, aggressive cleaning agents and strong sunlight can damage the wood.
Many manufacturers and partners allow repeat orders or offer spare parts – just ask us!
We will find a quick and fair solution – just get in touch with us.
