La Punt furniture range: compact and virtuoso transformation solutions for working at home
Girsberger has developed the „La Punt“ furniture range for working at home, which is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It meets the requirements of professional screen-based working in a space-saving way. At its core, it is a bridge-like solid wood console with a folding work surface. Thanks to this, „La Punt“ fits into any home and, not least because of its solid wood construction, is a piece of work furniture that blends perfectly into living environments. Various storage elements are also available, which can be combined to create individual workstation solutions.
When closed, „La Punt“ is a sideboard that takes up very little space due to its shallow depth. When unfolded, it becomes a fully-fledged workstation. It’s good to know that the name „La Punt“ is a Rhaeto-Romanic term and a place name in the Upper Engadine that means „the bridge“. The same is true of the furniture’s design approach, which designer Mathias Seiler from „La Punt“ describes as follows: „A solid wood console acts as a supporting bridge for the folding work surface. The thin solid core material of the worktop forms an interesting contrast to the solid wood console.“
When folded down, „La Punt“ is only 40 cm deep. When the shelf is folded out, a large work area with two levels and a depth of 80 cm is created – enough for a fully-fledged computer workstation. In addition, the solid wood console can have a storage shelf in the lower area, creating plenty of storage space for folders, documents or even a printer, which is completely concealed when the work surface is folded down. When work is finished, the laptop or keyboard and work documents can be moved from the work surface to the rear storage area and the shelf folded down – quickly creating order, space and a tidy appearance.
The work consoles have balancing weights at the rear to ensure sufficient stability even when the worktop is folded out. Versions are available in oak or walnut – in widths of 120 or 160 cm. The worktop and shelves are made of solid core, optionally coated in white or black. They are also optionally available with a Fenix coating, a matt nanotech material that gives the surfaces a sophisticated and velvety touch.

Electrification is guaranteed thanks to a hinged cable tray for power strips, cables and transformers. In addition, the storage area above can be fitted with a power strip so that mobile devices can be connected quickly.
Storage elements are available as sideboards with a height of 58 cm and as highboards with a height of 84 cm in widths of 60 and 120 cm. This means that the work consoles can be extended to create complete home office solutions. Various versions with shelves and drawers are available. Just like the work consoles, all storage elements have a flat storage area at the top, which can optionally be fitted with flat drawers made of sheet aluminum. These universal and mobile shelves are suitable for documents and office accessories.

La Punt“ is not only an ideal solution for working at home. The solid wood storage elements can also be combined very well with Girsberger conference and work tables in the office.
With this new development, Girsberger is taking a further step towards offering convincing solutions for working at home, while expressing its special expertise in solid wood processing. The intermeshing of living and working has never been as topical as it is today. The company now offers holistic solutions for this – from ergonomic swivel chairs and desks to various storage solutions.

born in 1963, he studied Industrial Design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg under Prof. Dieter Rams. He has worked internationally as a product designer for various renowned furniture manufacturers and has received numerous awards. Mathias Seiler has had overall responsibility for design and marketing at Girsberger since 2010.
