marva – homely task chair with invisibly integrated ergonomic functions
with „Marva“, Girsberger has developed a new functional swivel chair. Its far-reaching ergonomic properties and adjustment options are not visible in this model. On the contrary – the chair has a homely appearance and, with its round, soft shapes, fits in perfectly with the ideal of the modern office, which is increasingly taking on aspects of a private environment and becoming more homely. A special feature is the new, very flat synchronous mechanism, which is invisibly integrated into the seat.
The new functional swivel chair „Marva“ is a successful response to the increasingly homely office environment on the one hand and the requirements of the home workplace on the other. As designer, Mathias Seiler set himself the task of creating a swivel chair with invisibly integrated ergonomic functions and a soft design language.
„Marva“: ergonomic task chair with homely shapes and invisibly integrated synchronous mechanism. The zipper on the backrest emphasizes the textile and homely character.
Equipped with all ergonomic features, the model has a synchronous mechanism with automatic spring force adjustment for dynamic sitting, precise adjustment of the seat, backrest and lumbar area, as well as multi-adjustable armrests. A second mechanism variant with additional fine spring force adjustment and switchable negative seat tilt is available as an option.
The backrest has a concave, body-hugging shape and is fully upholstered in fabric. In addition to the round, soft shapes, which ensure a distinctly homely feel, the model owes its textile appearance to the zipper on the back of the backrest. The soft and voluminously upholstered seat offers particular comfort, complemented by armrests made of soft PUR with large, oval support surfaces.
About the designer: Mathias Seiler
Mathias Seiler, born in 1963, studied Industrial Design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg under Prof. Dieter Rams. He has worked internationally as a product designer for various renowned furniture manufacturers and has received numerous awards. Mathias Seiler has had overall responsibility for design and marketing at Girsberger since 2010.
