The anticipation builds

When we were given the go-ahead for the apartment around two years ago (!), we hardly dared to set up a countdown to moving in. March 2022 seemed too far away. Now that the first stage of construction was completed last November and the first residents of the development have already moved in, we often walk past our future new address. A meadow with a goat shed has been transformed into a modern neighborhood. Even if it’s not quite finished yet, you can already get an idea of what our everyday lives will be like here.

The almost 70 apartments, divided into nine buildings, were built to the Minergie Eco standard and thus set a contemporary example in terms of the sustainable use of raw materials. In addition, a photovoltaic system on the roofs contributes to the production of green electricity.
Quiet residential area near the city center

We particularly appreciate the excellent location. The bus ride to Lucerne main station only takes around fifteen minutes. Lake Rotsee is a stone’s throw from our front door. The same applies to the kindergarten and elementary school. Kaspar-Kopp-Strasse is surrounded by older detached houses and invites joggers and cyclists to enjoy sporting activities at the weekends.

To date, the project has cost us a lot of time and nerves, even if the support from the construction company can be described as very good and incidents have been kept to a minimum. We have been through intensive months of preparation and now to see our own house actually finished fills us with great anticipation.

In a few weeks, we will start preparing for our move and we can hardly wait to unpack the boxes about two kilometers from our current rented apartment and move into our new home. Our moving tips will follow in the next post. How this last „sub-project“ will turn out, however, is still to be planned.
