The home ownership project: our apartment is finished – at least as a shell

We’ve been looking at building sites from a new perspective for a few months now. Before our purchase, they were mainly noisy and dusty. We would be lying if we now had a completely romantic idea of building sites. Of course, this is still true. But it is still impressive to see how a new settlement rises from nothing, how much coordination is required and how plans are turned into reality down to the last centimeter.
In the meantime, our house, or rather our apartment, is now in the shell construction stage. Just looking at it makes us look forward to moving in – even though the dimensions seem much smaller than without scaffolding and with a white coat of paint. We can also hardly imagine how everything will fit inside the four walls. We can hardly imagine how all the other work will be completed on time in the few months left until March 2022. And as our house is being built in the second of three construction phases, we will have to live in a construction site environment for a few months after we move in, for better or worse.
In general, the entire neighborhood around Kaspar-Kopp-Strasse seems to be in a state of upheaval and there is obviously a generational change taking place. A number of houses have been newly built or completely renovated. And it is precisely this mix and this spirit of optimism that is currently making the district so interesting. Either way – our walks now often take us along here.
Minergie eco standard for a better quality of life

Minergie-eco is a project of the Minergie and eco-bau associations and supplements the existing Minergie standards with the topics of health and building ecology. Health aspects are taken into account in the areas of „daylight“, „sound insulation“ and „indoor climate“. „Sustainable building concept“, „Materials and processes“ and „Grey energy“ include ecological building requirements.
We are of course delighted with the eco-certified building standard of our house, but frankly the fact was only a limited purchase criterion. As a layman, we only notice the window fronts that are over 2.20 meters wide and we have seven of them, excluding the loggia. We’re already adding up the costs for the total of around 36 meters of curtain fabric (factor 1.5), which will cost us ????. The eco standard also comes with certain restrictions. For example, only appliances with increased energy efficiency are permitted or fittings with excessive water flow are excluded. If you are considering a property with eco certification, find out about possible restrictions in advance.
