An integral part of a well-functioning open office environment is a place to retreat – for making phone calls, for concentrated individual work, for confidential conversations or for contemplation. Talky, a soundproof cell developed by designer and architect Stephan Hürlemann for Erich Keller AG and marketed by Vitra – adapted to its own materials and colors – fulfils precisely this purpose. Because pinboards, whiteboards, flipchorts and shelves, workstations, checkrooms and vertical greenery can also be attached to Talky, the immediate surroundings are also activated. Especially in combination with the rollable Dancing Wall, also designed by Hürlemann, Talky contributes to the dynamics of open office structures. Talky can be furnished inside and out with fabrics from Vitra and can therefore be coordinated with a wide variety of office environments and other Vitra products. The interior design elements can be spontaneously adapted to the respective purpose – transforming the individual office into a mini-meeting room or a small studio in no time at all. The strong acoustic insulation ensures privacy and the powerful but quiet ventilation ensures good air quality. And with fabric-covered external surfaces, Talky has a positive influence on room acoustics. Talky is available in sizes S75 and S109 for one to four people and special sizes can also be produced on request – the small 575 model can be repositioned using a pallet truck. Talky is designed so that individual parts can be repaired or replaced.
