USM remains true to its role as a pioneer in modular furniture design – and presented a fascinating new product at
Milan Design Week 2025: the
USM Haller Soft Panel. As part of the inspiring installation
„Connected by Our Dreams“, the new element was presented in the renowned Spotti showroom in Milan – inspiring design lovers with an exciting combination of function, aesthetics and flexibility.
The
Soft Panel will be available from USM retailers from
September 2025 – and will add a playful and stylish component to the iconic USM Haller system.
Playful – design with lightness and change
The Soft Panel is all about flexibility and creativity.
Four integrated magnets make it possible to click the textile panels into the tubular structure of the modular furniture system without any tools – simply, quickly and securely. No assembly work, no additional fixtures –
just the pure joy of change.
The panels can be opened and closed, flipped from one compartment to the next, rotated or moved. One movement – and the furniture is transformed.
Flip – a fresh orange,
Flap – an elegant red with a vertical pattern.
Combine colors, shapes and patterns to your heart’s content – as a puzzle or an eclectic composition. With every Flip, you not only change the furniture, but also the feeling of the room.
Soft – Sustainable materials, pleasant feel
Behind the soft appearance is a well thought-out material concept: the
USM Haller Soft Panel is made from high-quality synthetic fibers, with a
40% recycled Seaqual® marine plastic content. The result: a surprisingly
soft, warm finish – in contrast to the cool metal structure of the classic system.
But the panel doesn’t just look good – it is also functional:
the textile surfaces absorb sound and therefore noticeably improve the room acoustics. Ideal for home offices, living spaces or creative working environments.
Easy – quick, uncomplicated, versatile
Handling the panels couldn’t be easier: they are
child’s play to attach, replace and reposition. This makes them the perfect addition for anyone who wants to create a new sense of space with little effort –
whether for existing USM furniture or new configurations.
The Soft Panels will be available in
three formats from fall 2025:
- 750 × 350 mm
- 500 × 350 mm
- 350 × 350 mm
In addition, there are
three textile structures (diagonal, round, vertical) and
ten inspiring colors that can be combined as desired – whether monochrome or rich in contrast, restrained or bold.
Collaboration with Marc Venot & JOBA
The USM Haller Soft Panel was developed in collaboration with the renowned
French designer Marc Venot, with the final design coming from the
US studio JOBA under Kevin Jones. The latter was also responsible for the emotional and immersive presentation „Connected by Our Dreams“ – an experience that impressively showcased the idea of modular change.

USM Haller Soft Panel opens a new chapter in the history of modular design.
