Vases Découpage

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2020
The Vases Découpage each consist of a combination of a cast, cylindrical vessel with a set of naively shaped plates and rods made of clay, which can be attached to or positioned in the vessel. All elements have a distinctly handcrafted expression and different colors – and together they create poetic compositions that appear different from every angle: whimsical, ironic, unconventional, lively.

Solitaires

Expressive flowers such as tulips, gloriosa, lilies, strelitzia, hydrangeas or amaryllis enhance the striking appearance of the vases
Pure varieties

With a bunch of identical flowers, color plays a major role: tone-on-tone with the vase creates a calm effect, while contrasting colors draw attention to the arrangement.
Floral bouquet

Take the vase to your florist, who can put together a bouquet that incorporates the clay disc and stick into the design, for example, or he will emphasize the red disc with a spherical bouquet.
Green arrangement

Greenery can also be oily and expressive, such as a combination of shades of green that plays with the structure of leaves, branches and grasses. The long tendrils of asparagus are also suitable as solitary plants.
Dried flower arrangement

You can cut dried flowers, fruit clusters and grasses in the garden or by the wayside in the fall and freely combine the beige, brown and grey tones and structures – for a bouquet that will last a long time.
Branches

Whether gnarled and withered or blooming as a harbinger of spring: Branches create beautiful contrasts to the disks, rods and loops. And at Christmas time, combine a knotty pine branch with the Vitra Girard Ornaments to create a festive decoration.

Herringbone Vessels

Raw-Edges, 2019
The repeated dipping in colored glaze also creates a pattern with its own logic in the ceramic bowls, dishes and vases of the Herringbone Vessels, determined by the dipping angle and the shape and gravity of the objects. As the dyeing process is carried out entirely by hand, each Herringbone Vessels bowl, dish and vase is a unique piece. With a height of 24.5 and 31.5 cm, the vases in the Herringbone Collection are true all-rounders for versatile flower arrangements.

Bundle of leaves, grasses and twigs for a play of green tones and textures

Flowers such as calla lilies, strelitzias or hydrangeas as solitary plants or in small groups look simple and elegant

Cut flower clusters and grasses in the fall for a long-lasting dried flower arrangement

Tip:
To give a few flowers a secure hold, you can stretch small branches crosswise in the vases or use a thick wire to bend a loose ball and place it in the vase or form a grid with transparent adhesive strips

In addition to the usual use of the bowls and plates for fruit, pastries etc., they can also be used for table decorations with flowers in combination with moss or sticking moss (Kenzan).

– Use branches to give arrangements volume and allow them to grow upwards
– Arrange the flowers on levels – the largest at the bottom, this gives your combination visual support

– A few leaves can be used to cover moss or hedgehogs
– Daffodils can be easily arranged with hedgehogs to create a small garden
Tip:

You can give individual flowers additional support in bowls with pieces of twig clamped in. Moss cuttings are a floristic aid for arranging flowers in containers. Place it on the surface of the water, it will sink slowly and fill up in about a minute. Moisten the moss with water from time to time.

Alternatively, you can use a plug-in hedgehog (Kenzan), into which you can insert twigs, leaves and flowers as desired. Let nature inspire you to create light and airy combinations. Fill the container with water up to the top edge of the plug-in hedgehog

Nuage vases

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2016
The Nuages vases are divided into eight tubes in which arrangements of flowers and grasses can be placed. The wave-shaped surface bowls create an attractive interplay of light and shadow and the vases can be arranged to form entire „cloud formations“. Nuages is available in different sizes made of coloured anodized aluminium. They can be filled with individual flowers or small groups.

Have the courage to leave gaps: Don’t fill all the tubes – 3 of the 8 are sufficient – and show off your Nuage to its best advantage as an object
Tip 1 – Sorting

If you use the whole set, you can sort your flowers into the three different sized vases. Each vase contains one type of flower.
Tip 2 – Repeat

Fill the large nuage with a combination of flowers, grasses and twigs. Leave the middle nuage empty. Repeat the combination of the large vase in the small vase, but slightly smaller

Nuage (céramique) vases

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2018
The Nuage vases in ceramic have charming, barely noticeable differences that indicate their elaborate craftsmanship – and which make each vase a unique piece. The wave-shaped surface bowls create a delightful interplay of light and shadow and the vases can be arranged to form entire „cloud formations“

Eight openings lead to an entire room inside. In contrast to the aluminum Nuage, this allows flowers, water, leaves or branches to be placed in the vase at an angle. The Nuage Céramique can be used to create natural combinations that are reminiscent of a wild garden or meadow. Whether flowers from your florist or flowers picked from the meadow, the white Nuage Céramique will always show them off to their best advantage.

Tip:
Put a few twigs in the vase first. These will support the flowers you add by intertwining inside.
